Depending on the technology, position sensing sensors are suitable for different applications: Electronic magnetic sensors are insensitive to vibration, shock and impact loads and operate wear-free over their entire service life. However, unlike reed contacts, they require a power supply. On the other hand, magnetic sensors with reed contacts do not require a power supply and can therefore be used more flexibly and universally.
